I think both teams are going to have motivation to win this game based on the total lack of respect they've received from the national media. Just this morning, Mike Golic said that the winner of this game will be national champion in name only.

I want a playoff as much as the next guy, but I'll also call the winner of this game the national champion.

Playing in the dome for these Buckeyes will be like taking a relaxing gentle walk on plush green grass in the Spring compared to playing in a whiteout in happy Valley.

No Offense but how can OSU fans still talk so much crap after all that humble pie you guys ate last season.

OSU has a good football program but so does LSU. It wouldn't suprise me if either won.

I can't wait til all this paper talk is over and the score goes final. Good luck to both.

I agree. Good luck OSU. I wouldn't hate LSU except that ****y coach they have.

LSU DID have all the good luck. OSU again has a team good enough to win but just totally shot themselves in the foot. FIVE personal fouls? A stupid momentum killing penalty that probably turned 14-0 into 10-0. A dropped TD pass that ended up instead as a blocked FG. Int's. Other stupid penalties. Players caught out of position. The Buckeyes looked like ass throughout the entire 2nd and 3rd quarters, and LSU is way too good of a team to not capitalize on all those mistakes.

Still, I'd rather lose the national championship game every year then beat some mid-tier team in the Holiday Bowl.

Luck had nothing to do with it. LSU is a great team and they dominated. There isn't really anything else you can say. LSU came to play and OSU didn't

The only play that had bad luck was that roughing the punter penalty, I guess. How on Earth did he miss the ball.

SEC goes 7-2 this bowl seson.

The most glaring factor in the game last night was that LSU's coaching staff out-schemed OSU's coaching staff. That's right - Sweatervest got outcoached by the Mad Hatter (what is the world coming to?) Aside from coaching, the OSU players never showed any confidence in the game, even after they took the quick 10-0 lead. LSU settled down and developed that Eye-of-the-Tiger killer instinct and OSU could not muster any sort of effective counter-punch. LSU just simply wanted it more.

Right now, the SEC is light years better than the Big Ten. The Big Ten teams - especially OSU - need to do some soul searching in the offseason and determine whether or not they want to legitimately compete for national titles anytime soon. Getting to the title game isn't going to cut it any longer because of how severely the Big Ten (OSU) has been dominated in the last two outings. 0-9 all time against the SEC in bowl games is an ugly stat.

I must not have watched the same game. I saw a Bucks offense move up and down the field (then repeatedly self destruct). The SEC speed myth is just that, OSU was just as fast. Luck is sure-handed Hartline dropping a TD pass, a MLB jumping on a punt and missing it, a bobbled punt not recovered, etc, etc...

I'm not taking anything away from LSU, they were clearly better prepared, but they are not "light years" ahead of OSU in any way shape or form, they simply made the most of their opportunities where OSU did not.
