Does anyone have information on Timmons?

idk what the coaches think of him but i have a feeling he will start for farrior or foote next season through releases or trades. he was a guy who backed up ernie sims when he went to florida state and timmons truly only has 1 yr of starter experience. i think he was more of a project than a prodegy, i dont think we will find out what he can do until he gets some major playing time. he does lead our team in forced fumbles.

I agree .... with Harrison playing at such a high level and Woodley seemingly the heir apparent at Haggans' position I'd expect that’s Timmons' future will be on the inside. I think Farrior is much better than Foote, but there is an age factor regarding Farrior.

I really don't think he lived up to expectaions at all. But then again, Troy didn't look the greatest his first year.........Obviously one year is to soon to judge. Hopefully he has a "breakout year" next year & learns the playbook. I certainly hope so......

He has played excellent on special teams. Seems to be a great physical specimen.

I have high hopes for him, but I hope that he isn't another Bell... just running around making plays without discipline.

The interesting thing about Timmons is that he fits the mold for an ILB in a 3-4, but a OLB in a 4-3/Cover 2. I've predicted that while the 3-4 will remain the base defense, we'll see more 4-3 and Cover 2 looks in the future and Timmons would probably see playing time in those schemes if that holds true. In other words, he'll give us more versatility if he pans out.

I think you're exactly right on that.

from what i have read he is not someone you will find in the gym. that's probably why he showed up at his pro day out of shape.

not a good thing to know.. although i think he will turn out to be a great great member of the steelers D.... although i seee him taking over farrior's spot not foote... and if we trade away farrior we're losing an excellent player who made len pasquearelli's (or however u spell it) 1st team all pro... but more so an excellent teammate

Nice threads everyone.... I really like the idea of him replacing Larry Foote next season and Farrior having a farewell tour next year.. but I think that he might have to take a little less money next year to stay. If he doesnt take a pay cut then he may be gone in the offseason. I hate it because Farrior is a great player that is just getting older...
Timmons shows all the signs of being the next Kendrell Bell in my opinion, but I just hope that he last longer and is more into staying his position and making plays for years to come.
