Default Gallo/ESPN on Roethlisberger as Comeback Player of the Year

The whole column is hilarious, particularly the "priceless pep talks for Peyton Manning," but I wanted to pass along this little excerpt regarding Ben's third place finish as Comeback Player of the Year:

Quote:
Dallas linebacker Greg Ellis was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year on Saturday. He got 12 votes, Randy Moss placed second with nine and Ben Roethlisberger was third with seven. As you may know, Ellis came back from a torn Achilles, Roethlisberger from the lingering effects of a serious motorcycle accident and an appendectomy and Moss from clubhouse cancer. Congratulations to all.
Thought yinz would get a kick out of it. Here' s the link to the whole column:

Gallo strikes me as just another Brady nuthugger who likes to pile on Manning. Tired and hackneyed.

I think that Jamal Lewis should have got some votes myself. And for Moss to even be considered for this just goes to show that the NFL are still kissing up to the Patriots perfect season. Ellis was injured last year and that was a serious injury and I cant argue that one much but to give Moss those votes for just being a Cry Baby in Oakland is rediculous..

Gee - if Moss got some sap votes, where were TO's , especially after his boo hoo-fest on Sunday after the Cryboys got beat by the - NY Giants.

"He's my quarterback, man".

It's a sham that Ben didn't get CPOY. The guy led the NFL in INTs in 2007, but then comes back and sets the team record for TD passes and QB rating. I'm a little PO-ed he didn't win an award he so richly deserved. Here's hoping Ben will never be in the running for CPOY again.
