Steelers Franchise: The Road to the Superbowl Begins

This will be a franchise played on Madden 2006 for Xbox 360. I don't know if anyone has seen these before, but basically what they are is a franchise report using franchise mode in madden or another game. I will post as if I was the newspaper or official news reporter for the Steelers, posting game reports, stats, free agent moves, trades, etc. It is pretty fun, and I just do it in my spare time, and it spices up my franchise on madden 2006. Also, I want to major in journalism most likely in college, and become a sports writer/journalist/analyst, so I get good practice and critiquing by doing this, and still get to have fun. Your replies and interests are key to me keeping this up. If you end up liking it, you can post in here and just say something, because the readers always keep me going, ALSO, when you are reading you can sumbit questions for the coach, or owner, etc, I will answer them as coach Cowher, but I will answer questions to the owner as me, because in this, I will make the storyline that Rooney finally sells the team to a 22 year old lottery-winnng multi billionaire with a love for Steelers football!

Because the Xbox 360 system does not come out for awhile, until then I am going to get things all set up and stuff for this thread.

DA LOWDOWN

PLATFORM: The NEW Xbox 360, more info on this system at xbox.com..
MODE: All-Pro to begin with, probably for the duration
GAME LENGTH: 5 minutes, accelerated clock OFF
ROSTER: default for the xbox 360
SLIDERS: I will adjust them as I go.. same for injury sliders, will most likely be turned up a little bit...
VISION CONE: I?m turning that sucka off!!! It is by deafult off on the 360, so obviosuly the madden franchse just used the vision cone as a crazy experiment. The precision passing will stay on though, sense on the 360 you can keep VCone off, and precision passing on.
TRAINING CAMP: I will play all of training camp, I suck at it anyways, so I don't get too much of an advantage over the CPU in this (sense the CPU can't use the training camp progression)
INJURIES: Pre-existing injuries on the roster update will be left on. If one of my players gets injured and I have to replace him with a free agent, the newcomer can?t be rated higher than 75 OVR. In the real NFL, you?re not going to get someone after the season starts who is all that good. Why should I benefit from an injury in my franchise just because the CPU teams couldn?t afford a stud?
PLAYBOOK: On offense, I will use Cowher's, and on defense we will stick with the 3-4, this could change, but it will be announced if changed.
PRESEASON: All games simmed. I don't like playing these games, they don't mean anything!!
TRADES: No limit, but I will try to keep it realistic and not do too many.. Many times I will ask the readers if a trade is fair, because the madden CPU trading system is very easy to rip off.

**MODIFIED SALARY CAP--What I do is at the beggining of the franchise I write down the team salary. Then I multiply that by 1.07. That is how much I can spend until the next season. If I go above that, that's a penalty. Every year I will raise how much I multiply it by 1, so the next year it will be 1.08,etc. The reason I do this is because the salary cap on madden is very unrealistic, I can sign almost every single good FA if I wanted to, so this limits me..

**MODIFED TRADING--Many times I will ask you guys if a trade I am thinking about making is fair, because the Madden CPU trading system is very easy to rip off, I want to keep this realistic, as you can see.

This is fine...I'm so far behind in my game playing. I pre-ordered Halo 2 and picked it up November 9, 2004, and I just finished it a few weeks ago...I got so involved in playing and re-playing Morrowind, I lost track of all the games I bought. I have Doom, NASCAR 2005, Metal Gear Solid 2, and Darkwatch to play before I can even buy another game.

But that option in Madden '06 looks sweet.

the option to turn off Vcone and not the precision thing? That is only for the xbox 360 though, just an FYI if that is the "option" you are talking about...

Naw, I'm talking about all the upgrades for Franchise mode...I read about them in Game Insider.

You take wonderlic tests, give interviews, choose whether to spend more time practicing or doing TV commercials...lot's of interesting stuff real NFL players have to go through.

Is there a 'DeAngelo Hall Option'...where you can be sponsored huge amounts of money to wear footwear from one company - then get dropped because you insist on wearing the merchandise of a rival footwear company's live on National TV?

those features are for the "road to the hall of fame" mode i believe that it what it is called, and that is in the ps2 and xbox versions now, and that mode really sucks IMO, its seperate from franchise mode and VERY different, oh BTW u have to be black, u cant be white in that mode. This mode will be great in a few years though when they enhance it..
