Ben is not denying the quote - Bouchette's story indicated he made the statement the day before the story ran, not a month ago - believe who you want - since I think Bouchette likes continuing to work at the P-G I know who I will believe in terms of when the statement was made.

The guy was in his second year, in his first Super Bowl appearance and the bottomline in my book.......he got the job done. He helped us get ring #5. That's all that matters to me. I'll take rings over stats.

Then again, apparently I hate Ben because I do not agree with him running his mouth. What am I thinking?

I'm not gonna give Ben credit for something he is not...at least at this point. You can slobber over Ben all you want. The fact is so many Steeler fans can not be objective when it comes to him. I brought up his performance in the Super Bowl b/c people post things on here like he delivered the win. Has nothing to do with rings over stats. The truth of that matter is that any starting QB in the league could have been playing for us in SB XL and the result would have been the same if not better. Lastly, don't put words in my mouth. lol, I'm "slobbering" over Ben? Apparently you looked over or missed my comments on the Ward/Roethlisberger situation, but whatever.

Also, I'm not exactly sure where I put words in your mouth. All I stated was that kid was still young at the time and that I would take the win over his stats/how he performed anyday of the week. It was an opinion. I also never said you hated Ben. I'm the one who should get my facts straight....lol.

Yes and no. He played bad when it came to throwing the ball...

BUt he made EXCELLENT choices on the run for the first down at the end of the game... and he CHOSE to do it..

He was able to lead the team even when he played bad. Furthermore, there is a clip of him looking at Cowher and saying, "Don't go conservative now."

Yeah, I think, while Ben did not WIN the game for us, he still HELPED us win the game.
