First Paragraph: As evidenced by the signing of free agent center Justin Hartwig and the re-signings of guard Chris Kemoeatu and tackle Trai Essex the Steelers are doing what they can to add some stability to what appears to be a shaky offensive line situation. The prevailing thought is that Hartwig's signing means that starting center Sean Mahan will move to offensive guard in 2008 and though it appears to be a solid enough move for the short term, even before the departure of Alan Faneca adding another guard for the long haul was an area of significant need if for no other reason than the current backups have proved nothing.

I still wouldnt be suprised if the Steelers chose an OT in the 1st round come april though. I just dont see the Steelers keeping Max Starks for that kind of money, if they can get him to sign for a long term contract then it may work out with him and let him play at RT... we won a super bowl with this guy there 3 years ago folks.. he can still play we seen that when he took over for Smith at LT

im really starting to like this guy... sounds like he will do anytrhing for his team...and has a good attitude with a good work ethic.

I've read that Albert didn't work out at his pro day, but spent most of his time talking to the Steelers, the Skins, and the Panthers.

....My discussion with Groh about Albert was even more intriguing. Groh doubts NFL offensive line coaches came away believing Albert could play left tackle or is the highest graded guard in the draft.....

Im not sure if we want a project at LT...Not quite sold on Albert yet as a OT...but I would take him at guard if he is the best player left at #23.

LLT, i think the kirwan article had a typo or editorial error. the quoted statement totally contradicts their discussion that the article was based on. (he mightve just screwed up when writing it, but listenning to the actual interview, groh, kirwan, ryan and even howie long seem to have no doubts about his potential.)

Thanks Tony...a typo would make sense...it was confusing. IF they are sold on Albert and walked away thinking that he could play both positions, I would be inclined to take him at #23.
