Finding Midwestern baseball fans was fantasic for me. These people honestly don't care if their teams win or lose. They love their teams for what they represent, not for their win and loss records.

It's pretty cool.

Come one guys! Our first game was so intense and so good! I mean we won! When i get to the burgh my dad is looking to get Pens season tickets for us and I am going to look into Pirates season tickets! I cant wait and its not like the steelers with me, with the Bucs no matter if they win or lose its small improvements and such. Lets enjoy this season with the bucs! I think they can break the streak!

Thank you.

I was nearly crucified last season for suggesting that I would rather see the young players we have take their knocks than a group of overpaid divas.

You have to understand, Crush, that Pirates fans are just tired of the losing and tired of management not spending any money to improve the team. They haven't had a winning season since I started college at WVU back in 1992. So you'll have to forgive us for being a little testy and impatient.

That said, you will not be crucified by me this year. I'm willing to give these guys a chance and see what happens.

Default Pirates Game 2 : Pirates vs. Braves

Well guys tonight is the second game of the season. We are facing the Atlanta Braves, last game was crazy and intense lets hope this one comes a little easier, but a win is a win. Tom Gorzelanny is our starter tonight, last year he started out 3-0 lets hope he can start this year with a win. Jair Jurrjens is starting for the Braves.
GO BUCS!

Mod's: Can we just make this a gameday thread? I don;t think we want 162 different threads.

We gotta get our hitters out, we keep striking out this game

Nice
Diaz just grounded into a double play, Mcann out at second and Francoeur made it to third. 2 outs.
