Default Should Steelers Release Davenport?

Easy As Yes or No
I think that they released Cedric Wilson prematurely, and the woman has withdrawn her accusations as well. Najeh Davenport is in court and the Steelers are standing by his side it sounds like. I was not a Cedric Wilson fan by no means, because he hasnt done anything for our team in 4 years or so that he has been here. Davenport should have been released in my opinion.

I think it depends on who we draft and such. Dookie isn't THAT bad, he's just not THAT great.

So whaddya do? Dunno. I voted keep him until further notice.

Also, I don't think they released Wilson prematurely. It almost looked to me like the Rooney's used the woman incident(s) as an excuse to cut him. It was coming anyway, IMO.

Dookie improved his game so much this year but to be fair i think that it wouldnt hurt to release him. Harrison is different, charges dropped automatically means that the case is basically over, he cant be convicted of anything really if there are no charges.

I think we should release him but not because his in court. I recall too many time when the Steelers were in short yardage and he would hit the hole, turn his back, and lose yardage.

With the group we have at RB, we can afford to cut him loose and let him make a splash in some other team's pool.

Steelman
The Steelers just got through release Wilson because of the same thing that Najeh is in court for. The Steelers are two faced not get rid of Najeh in my opinion. Najeh isnt getting the job done anyway. I think that Mewelde Moore will be the end to Davenports' days in the burgh' anyway.

he did fairly good to give willie time to rest in games. he's not a power back, but he's a good backup. it's not certain gary russell or moore will do better than him on the steelers, they have potential, but dookie has proven he can let willie rest during the game.

while he might not be the future here he's what we've got. and unless I'm forgetting something I didn't hear the steelers coaches say anything bad about his play last season. and his stats, not bad either.

based on his play I hope he stays . if he's guilty then he should be released immediately imo

Not yet, you have to wait to see what the court says. There's actually some doubt as to what happened in Davenport's case, which is why they're taking it to a trial. Whereas Wilson apparently just slugged the woman in front of a bunch of people. There's really nothing hypocritical about what we're doing, unless you think it should be team policy to just cut everyone the second they're accused of doing anything wrong.
