39 Willie Parker 5'10" 209 lbs
I think that all his stats and playing time speaks volumes for this young man. Undrafted free agent that was leading the league before his injury behind a so-so oline. I think that his job is safe considering all goes well with rehab after breaking his leg.
44 Najeh Davenport 6'1" 247 lbs
This guy just isnt the answer for a power back for our offense to depend on. He turns his back to the line too much and there is still a huge need for a power back.
33 Gary Russell 5'11" 215 lbs
This guy looked pretty good last preseason and it will be interesting to see this guy get some more carries that Davenport got last season. This guy runs with power and hits the hole quickly which Davenport lacks.
Melwede Moore 5'11" 210 lbs
I really believe from all the highlights that I have heard and seen from this guy that he can be a great asset on 3rd downs and passing downs and returns punts as well. I think this guy is gonna make a good impact on our team.

Now with Justin Vincent at 5'10" 219 lbs and Billy Lotsko at 5'10 230 lbs as the other players on our roster at RB, I could see the Steelers selecting a power back in the upcoming draft. It will be an interesting weekend this upcoming weekend.

Obviously, Willie is Willie. He is our # 1 feature guy. He will do another 1700 + yds again this year barring INJURY!!!
Moore will be great for returns and catching passes out of the backfield.
All others we can live without.
Davenport loses as many yards as he gains.
A blocking back can be replaced witha good blocking tight end.

We need the "Bruiser" type back in our backfield. Someone that will punish the opposing defense and gain the 3 yards on 3rd or 4th down.

Jacob Hester would be an awesome bruiser for the Steelers. Played for LSU...one fumble his entire college career, put the team on his back in the Florida game. Heart of a champion and will probably be available in the 3rd round.

Hester will be available in the 6th by all reports and would be good value there for the steelers. But a bruiser like felton would possibly be just that bit better.

I do not like to play the devil's advocate, but I will! What happens if Willie goes down again, this time at the beginning of the season? Where does that leave us?

That's why they'll take Stewart if he's there. He carried the ball 280 times last year, so he can definitely shoulder the "every down back" load.

I think the only "1st round" back that will be available at #23 will be Felix Jones,,,and he isnt what we are looking for.

That's the thing, though...will other teams? We don't need another Willie Parker, but some teams might have Jones or even Mendenhall higher.
