is he more of a run blocker or pass blocker? if he's a run blocker look for ronnie brown to have a huge year. the fins need to settle at qb, not a super star, just not a cleo lemon type player, and they could be something good

great signing imo

Ridiculous money for an unproven player. Nobody has any idea whether this kid is going to be another Anthony Mu?oz or another Tony Mandarich.
yeah, maybe, but right now they can only hope for the best. bill parcells is a smart man, hopefully he made the right decision

Good call as a #1. 2 penalties and 2 sacks allowed in his career. He is ready now and will be a legend.

When bad teams have to shell out these kinds of guaranteed dollars for top 5 picks and they don't pan out, it kind of defeats the purpose of the high draft pick, does it not? Kinda hard to rebuild when you're in salary cap hell, no? They need to cap rookie salaries and guarantees.
Rookies should be given a base sallary and then paid of performance for the first year.......after that they can renogotiate their contract.
For thoes who dont play their first year.....1- two million shoulld cover all expenses

Unfortunately I think there are two many instances of players who take a year or two to adapt to a system ie Mario Williams OR are drafted as a backup ie Aaron Rodgers to make a system like that work. IMO there has to be a longer contract period which also means larger guarantees.

The worst part of the NFL NOT adopting the NBA system is that it takes money out of proven veterans pockets, and puts it straight into unproven players AND THEIR AGENTS wallets.

It's in almost everyones best interests to change...I'm actually surprised it hasn't already happened.

Yeah because there's never been a can't miss prospect who ended up missing right?

As I understand it, the argument AGAINST a rookie wage system is that the contracts going to rookies help drive the increase in veteran's contracts. I'm not sure I buy it, but that's the argument Upshaw et al are saying.
