I think this was a good choice. The safest choices were Jake Long, Glen Dorsey, or Chris Long.

Jake Long- Excellent run blocker who is also a good (not great, but can get there) pass blocker.

Glen Dorsey- Excellent interior lineman, great motor, brings it every play.

Chris Long- Would be an instant upgrade to any defensive line. He can rush the passer and stuff the run.

Matt Ryan would have been a bad choice, seeing how there is nobody up front to protect him.

McFadden would have had the same problem as Ryan. Plus the Dolphins have a RB in Ronnie Brown, as long as his knee has heeled.

Good points Ronnie is a good back when healthy they didn't need McFadden.

Going into the 07 season the Dolphins were on many people's short list as contenders for a wild card spot. Most teams wouldn't survive losing their starting QB and RB early in their season. I'm not convinced they are as bad as their 1-15 record would indicate.
