Sweed had a round 1 grade on the Steelers board, if Mendenhall wasn't there I'm not 100% convinced we wouldn't have taken Sweed in the first. If they were both still there (Sweed/Groves) in the second I think we still take him over Groves even though we were so high on him.

We gotta love that aint we folks? I know I do!! It really irritated me that the Jaguars did what they did, but of course the Steelers could be saying that to make the Jags think next time before they leap like that. I am just glad that they lost a pick because of that

Yeah, and maybe either Groves heart condition or something else made them think Groves was more of a risk than Davis.

Looks like Avril and Crable would also fall into the same category as Groves. Create a smokescreen to protect the man that they wanted??

i hate the jags... i honestly dont think we would have passed on groves... i have a hard time believing that especially with all the pre-draft hoopla about him and the steelers...

quintein groves please demand a trade with the steelers...

I'd take Sweed over Groves. Unless Vernon Gholston fell to us (obviously not a chance) I had no interest in drafting a pass rusher in the first two rounds. Didn't we do that last year?
