Getting back on track . . .

LARRY BROWN, #79, TE/OT, drafted out of Kansas U in the 5th round of the 1971 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Brown played as a tight end from 1971-1976, and as a tackle from 1977-1984. During that time, he was one of the few players to play in all of the first four of the Steelers Super Bowl victories (Super Bowl IX, Super Bowl X, Super Bowl XIII, and Super Bowl XIV). He was selected to the Pro Bowl after the 1982 season.

DWIGHT WHITE #78, DE, drafted in the 4th round out of East Texas State in the 1971 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Nick-named "Mad Dog", because of his intensity, White became a two-time Pro Bowl defensive end. Prior to Super Bowl IX, White spent much of the previous week in a hospital, suffering from pneumonia. He lost 20 pounds during that week and was not expected to play. However, he did play, and accounted for the only scoring in the first half when he sacked Fran Tarkenton in the end zone for a safety the first points in Steelers' history in a championship game. The Steelers defeated the Minnesota Vikings 16-6.

White finished his career with 55 sacks, according to Steeler team records. He retired after the 1980 season and went on to become a stock broker.

Dwight White died of complications that arose from an earlier surgery. A blood clot in his lung, the complication from back surgery, is the suspected cause of death.

Steelers owner Dan Rooney called White "one of the greatest players to ever wear a Steelers uniform".

RIP, Mad Dog.

#77 - Steve Courson who played on the O-line from 1978-83. He died in 2005 trying to save his dog from a falling tree.
