Default Steelers may go after FS John Lynch(?)

Here is my call, Denver and Lynch decided to go separate ways.I'm calling this one because I know how coach Tomlin loves to bring his boys and also how he loves john. Therefore with our current situation I wouldnt be surprise to see the black n gold taking a look at him.(anyway specially since they were interested in Kevin Jones and we already had tons of backs anything's possible)

what you guys think about that?

your thread title is a bit misleading.. i dont think it would be necessary either if clark is fully healthy again. anthony smith still makes a great backup and is still growing as a player. lynch sounds like he may retire anyhow.

with his connection to Tomlin it wouldn't surprise me.

do we need him? not really, clark seems to be doing well, and anthony is there too

something tells me he ends up on the pats....

While I still thing there is a possibility of a big upside to Smith, I don't know how you can say he still makes a good backup with the way he played last season. A couple of big hits and a int as a rookie do not make you great, IMO. He must show this year that he understands his role as a S in this D.

I agree though that getting Lynch is unlikely. AlthoughI bet he would understand his role if he were teamed with Troy in the D' backfield.

Too bad he needs a walker to get from the locker room to the field.

its definitely worth giving a look.

i think he would make a great assistant secondary coach and would count nothing against the cap.

think darren perry (does he still have a job with the raiders?)

in other news- joe green , kevin green , and jeff hartings were all spotted at steelers camp in latrobe. none of them are expected to suit up in the b&g either.

I belive Smith will probably play better this year he was in a learning curve last year he has matured more and shouldn't make the mistakes he made last year as for lynch his better days are behind him.

Lynch is a Cover-2 Strong Safety? I don't know that he'd be such a great fit for the Steelers defense.
