I'd rather have him smoking a bowl and mellowing then getting all liquored/coked up and shooting up strip clubs bars...

At least pot smokers are pretty peaceful.

I like RM, I get the feeling we won't be having any off the field issues with him. It does kind of scare me that he almost quit football, if he thought Illinois was cutthroat, the NFL is about 10 times more intense. Although, I don't know what the situation was, it just seems wierd he was ready to walk away from football.
As I understand it, he was sitting behind someone and wasn't really given a legitimate chance to play. As in, he saw extraordinarily little play time. I could very well be wrong, but I don't think the situation of him sitting behind Willie is similar enough to warrant concern.

True, making millions never hurts either. I guess I'm looking a little too far into this, it just seems like he has other interests in his life which is fine, I could see him being one of those guys that retires before his time is up..

Rashard began to suspect that Coach Zook had used Rashard's brother Walter to get him to play at Illinois...some stories I have heard say that Rashard was ready to leave Illinois and go to a smaller school but there was a subtle threat to drop Walter from the team if he did.

There may be some truth to that since even though Rashard legitimately entered the draft to leave Illinois....Walter was told by Zook not to bother coming back for his last year of elgibility.
