Tomlin talks hurry-up offense
By the Tribune-Review Sunday, September 14, 2008 Mike Tomlin cited the 2007 Browns losing to the Steelers, 34-7, and then beating the Bengals, 51-45, as an example of the kind of improvement teams can make between their opening and second games of a season. It may have been a motivational ploy, but it was also a reminder that early-season results are not necessarily a portent of things to come. Last year's Browns wound up winning 10 games and missing the playoffs on a tie-breaker. Tampa Bay and Jacksonville lost openers but qualified for the postseason. San Diego won its first game, lost three straight and still made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game. And the New York Football Giants started out at 0-2, then went on to win the Super Bowl ... Run-Stop the Run usually gets it done, but not always. The Buccaneers averaged 7.3 yards per rush (20 for 146) and held the Saints to 3.7 yards per carry (27 for 101) and still lost, 24-20 ... Monday night's victory over Minnesota improved Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy to 18-3 over his last 21 regular-season games ... Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew has 26 touchdowns in his last 30 games, including playoffs ... Arizona has scored at least 20 points in an NFL-high nine consecutive games ... Never let it be said that WR Terrell Owens doesn't love the spotlight. He has 12 receiving TDs in his last 10 MNF appearances heading into tomorrow night's meeting with the Eagles. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pitt.../s_588154.html |

I would like to see some hurry up offense to see where we stand with it you never know when we might need it.

We did some in the Pre-season and i can't really judge it until it becomes an affective move during the regular season which i have not seen yet.

cutler, rivers, and eli manning are allowed to wing it. coach wiz allows kurt warner to sling it, even with a huge lead. tom brady, and now matt casshole win games primarilly out of the shotgun formation.
and i wonder what is the purpose of keeping ben under wraps. time to unleash him and have some fun.
