its the af base here in southern new mexico. they just wrapped up shooting here and are moving on to film in egypt

all the military base scenes at the beginning of transformers I were filmed here. it only got about 10 minutes of screen time (if that).

in II i presume there will be much more military scenes here in the desert. they have been filming for over a month. they offered the base a ton of money to explode a huge building right next to my sattelite office. unfortunately it is filled with asbestos tile from the 50's and would be too much of a health hazard or something.

i dont know much about the plot but they did have a prop that was a frontage of abuilding with what appeared to be an iraqi flag flying above it.

kudos to gov. bill richardson for offering tax breaks to big time filming studios who bring alot of money to our local economy. hollywood has been swarming around here the past few years.
