Default A look at the rest of our schedule...

  • Sunday, Oct. 26 vs. Giants 4:15 p.m. (FOX)
  • Monday, Nov. 3 @ Redskins 8:30 p.m. (ESPN)
  • Sunday, Nov. 9 vs. Colts 4:15 p.m. (CBS)
  • Sunday, Nov. 16 vs. Chargers * 4:15 p.m. (CBS)
  • Thursday, Nov. 20 vs. Bengals 8:15 p.m. (NFL Network)
  • Sunday, Nov. 30 @ Patriots * 4:15 p.m. (CBS)
  • Sunday, Dec. 7 vs. Cowboys * 4:15 p.m. (FOX)
  • Sunday, Dec. 14 @ Ravens * 1 p.m. (CBS)
  • Sunday, Dec. 21 @ Titans * 1 p.m. (CBS)
  • Sunday, Dec. 28 vs. Browns * 1 p.m. (CBS)

Now, of those, I see the Giants, the Redskins, Dallas, and Tennessee as truly potential losses. I know, I know. Dallas sucks, Tennessee hasn't played anyone, etc. etc.

Seriously, these are the teams that have already proven this year they can be very dangerous when things come together right. I'll throw San Diego in there as well, though I am being very generous..

If we lose ALL those games, we are 10-6 and headed into the playoffs.

However, I see us winning 3 of those 5, which means we should probably go 13-3 this year. That means we need Tennessee to lose two other games and the Bills to lose two other games for us to have homefield advantage.

Of course, this is predicated on us playing at the same level we have started out at and remaining somewhat healthy.

and yes, any given Sunday we can go completely off kilter.

I feel very good about our record Preach, especially considering some of our injuries and tough games. Great people and great teams work through adversity and find a way to win. I feel the Steelers have done that to this point. I can't speak to the rest of the season, but right now I feel pretty damn good about our Steelers and barring major injuries, I feel we can hang with anyone.

Even considering disapointing like the Colts, it's still a tough schedule. You didn't mention the Colts, the Chargers, but these teams can play like champions in any game. It's not as if they were bad teams, i think they play below their level. Who knows if they can recover it and when... The next 4 games will be determinant.

But the more important, with this schedule, is to control AFC North, and that's what make me confident. We already beat the Ravens (and of course Bungles and Brownies). We are 2 wins ahead Baltimore, and with a relatively same schedule, I don't see them catch us up in the race for AFC North. I mean, if we lose 6 more games, there's a good chance Baltimore will do the same or worst, so we still be AFC North champion.

The thing now is to compete for another bye week in Wild Cards. With our injuries and some tough games to come, it could be a good thing to have more time to recover.

I just can't figure out those Giants or Cowboys. The Giants get whooped by the lonely Browns and the Cowboys just are not the same without Romo. This season, any team can beat anyone on a given day. I think the Steelers stand a good chance of another AFC north title.

the way things are playing out 4 wins over the next 10 should have us in the playoffs anyways...the North sucks outside the Burgh Boys!

I don't look ahead...of our schedule...so what I'll do is take a look at the other team's schedules that may be playoff bound.

AFC, 6 slots. Right now its
Tennesee 6-0
Pittsburgh 5-1
Buffalo 5-1
Denver 4-2
New E, Jets, Balt, Jack, Indy, San D all with 3 wins for the last 2 slots.

Buf 5-1
@ Miami
Jets
@ NE
Cleveland
@ KC
San Fran
Miami
@ Jets
@ Denver
New E

Of those games, I see a couple losses. @ Denver, @ New E, Losing at least 1 of the 4 between Miami and NY. So maybe 3 more losses to Finish at 12-4.

Tenn 6-0
Indy
Green Bay
@Chicago
@ Jags
Jets
@ Detroit
Cleveland
@ Houston
Steelers
@ Indy.

3 maybe 4 losses. 3 for sure, One against Indy, and I like the Bears at home. Plus Us. Jags could be an interesting game.

13-3.

Denver 4-2
@ New E
Miami
@ Browns
@ Atlanta
Oakland
@ Jets
KC
@ Carolina
Buffalo (Could be a huge late season game)
@ San D

I Like Denver tonight, then to win up til the game at Atlanta. Falcons run too well. Then at Carolina is a loss I believe. the Buffalo game and San D, figure Split. that's 3 losses.

11-5

So those are the 3 teams that we must keep pace with. Somewhere between 11 and 13 wins in order to be considered a top seed in the playoffs.

I love it, because that means the game against the Giants is a MUST WIN!

WOOHOO! I love MUST WINS!

(note: Every game is a must win for this fan)
