Steelers' D: Best in the league - Page 4

There was that time in Late 2001 and into 2003 when the Steelers had a pretty miserable secondary. Man, I thought that would never be fixed. The Run Defense was inpenetrable however. So teams went after the Steelers in the air. Many a headache those times.

Well, now is the time for the Steelers to show that their Defense is the best on the block, especially with Troy up in the air and Mcfadden out. I like Tomlin's attitude on the matter. Injuries happen and expectations don't change for anyone. If one guy goes out, the next guy steps up.

The Giants will get the Steelers' best shots Sunday.

The D is playing great this year..... putting pressure on the QB allows us to use all of our defensive schemes to try and confuse the other teams. It also seems that we have been able to get off of the field on 3rd down a lot better this year than compared to the past few years.

This years D is about the same as last years D ....

Now before anyone goes nuts, remember what happened last year. The first 8 games or so, our D was unbelievable. I remember threads asking if the D was as good as the Steel Curtain era D.

Then the second half of the season came and the Defense just looked tired. So while I am VERY excited about our D this year, I am still holding my breath until we going into December.

I wouldn't even classify the steelers as a bend but don't break D. It seems we either get 3 and outs or give up a 10 play scoring drive.

My problem is that I really think some of you people expect the Steelers to ONLY pitch 3 and outs all game, every game. If the opposition gains more than 20 yards rushing and 50 yards passing, and they score a point, we somehow failed.

Don't forget, we have to be up by 45 by halftime too otherwise we suck!

70? 70 YARDS???

You think its ok for a team to move the ball 70 YARDS on us?

That is 210 feet!!!

With the average kickoff being returned to about the 30 or so yard line.. that is a GUARANTEED TOUCHDOWN EVERY GAME!

We suck!
