Cincy seeks help from Steelers QB

Cincinnati police would like $8,000 from Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s foundation, to be used to buy and train a police dog.

Roethlisberger gave police in Oxford, where he went to school at Miami University, that amount last year for their police dog unit.

That money bought protective vests for the dogs, a new cage and other equipment. An ordinance to come before Cincinnati City Council on Wednesday would allow the city to apply for and accept an $8,000 grant for the dog, training and a bullet-resistant vest.

The grants from the The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation, a city memo says, are made available to every city in which Roethlisberger plays this year. The Steelers beat the Bengals Oct. 19, 38-10.

(Good for Ben, He is one of the classiest QBs in the league. He makes me proud to be a Steeler fan. - mesa)

Wait till Big Ben gets Cincinnati a police dog. The bengals will have noone to dress for a game. The dog will help arrest the rest of them.

Seriously.....good on Ben. As Mesa said, he's showing his class. Something The Bungles lost ages ago. Housmanwatshisname could take a few lessons from Ben in that respect - (no one's ever going to forget the towel! - Not even on this side of The Atlantic!)
