![]() MIAMI -- When their teams last met, Bobby Bowden asked Joe Paterno how much longer he planned to stay in coaching. Sixteen years later, the legends may have that conversation again. Florida State (8-4) and Penn State (10-1) will meet in the FedEx Orange Bowl at Miami on Jan. 3, a game that'll mark a showdown between major college football's two winningest coaches. It's the sixth Bowl Championship Series appearance in eight years for the Seminoles, the first-ever for Paterno's third-ranked Nittany Lions. link-----> http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2247921

I think Penn State blows FSU out in this one.

PSU travels well, so it works out good for the Orange Bowl. Don't be surprised if, even though it's basically a home game for them, FSU fans don't represent well. They are a fickle bunch, and, once you weed out all the fair weather fans, plus the fact that FSU fans think they should win the National Championship every year (Which may never happen again, now that they have to play more than 2 games a year), and consider any other bowl "beneath them", they probably won't be as numerous as you'd think.

I was hoping Penn St. would have got Virginia Tech as well. My nephew is a Tech alum and his mother-(my sister )and her husband are PSU alums and they were planning on getting a ticket/hotel package for the game which they invited me in on had they been matched up together. I think Penn State should stomp Florida St. as well. |

If I could have chosen the Bowls, given what was left to work with, I'd have kept OSU/ND, but changedit to FSU/Georgia and WVU/PSU. I think Texas beats USC, PSU beats WVU, Georgia beats FSU and OSU beats ND, leaving the Big 10 the undisputed champs in having the toughest conference in all of college football!

PSU should dominate this one.. I was dissapointed to get FSU as well..they backed into this game by playing well here and there..but hardly worth the orange bowl IMO>
