Lightbulb Obama?

I know there are a few people in here who support Barack Obama, but as a Independant Conservative, please explain to me the policies of barack obama, and how they would help America. I am trying to understand a few things about him. I trust you all, as part of the Steelers family, to help me.

Thanks

KP99 - That's a very broad question. Many of us on this board who support Obama have listed these things in the locker room already, numerous times. Feel free to search my posts. If you're torn between Obama and McCain, you may have to boil it down to a few issues, which depends on which kind of conservative you are. If you're a social conservative, then McCain is for you.

This was a post I made on another thread regarding my decision to vote for Obama...

And YES there are some democrats here who CAN be bi-partisn. Do you want to know when I decided I was going to vote for Obama????? It was 3 weeks after McCain announced his VP candidate. Up to that point I was on the fence. AFTERALL my candidate lost in the primary and honestly I was more than just a little pissed off Obama didn't choose Hillary as his running mate.
I had to put my personal feelings aside....my fears of flawed characteristics...and base my vote ONLY on the issues that are important to me. I had to support the person running who would best represent my beliefs in Washington. THIS WAS NOT AN EASY TASK FOR ME!
Having said all that, I am proud of my decision, and proud that I voted for Obama! (yes I voted early) The last few weeks of the McCain campaign has only nullified my decision....McCain will stop at nothing to win...
My personal opinion about Palin, is that she was choosen because it was thought she could win the election for McCain...She wasn't choosen because she was the best candidate for this country.
Opposite for Obama...he could have choosen Hillary as a running mate..and ya know what? If he had, he would have closed this deal a long time ago....He had 19 million reasons to choose Hillary..and only 1 reason to choose Biden....Biden was the best candidate for our country.

There's an old Chinese proverb about age and shoe size but I don't remember it - it's been too long since I had to use it.

Which issues is Obama best for? What has he done to make anyone believe he'll actually follow through on what his (evershifting) campaign has been promising?

If you want to support poor(lazy) people and spread the wealth, vote for Obama. If you want gun control vote Obama. If you want to tax business's so much that the either go under or move out of the country vote Obama. If you want someone to sit down and talk with terrorists vote Obama.

Among many other things the "real" media refuses to report about Barack Hussein Obama

Obama: I will not opt out of public financing!

Obama: I am opting out of public financing.

This is all I need to know right here. He basically has no record what-so-ever to judge his ACTIONS on. All he does is talk, and when he lies like the above example, I have no reason to trust ANYTHING he says.
