Default ???Charles Rogers???

Would anyone like to see the Steelers consider bringing in this guy??? His days are numbered in Detroit. He will probabaly be somewhere else next year. He has been injured for most of his time in the NFL, but he was an amazing talent in college. He has also had some off the field issues so I doubt the Steelers would give him a chance, but the could get a player with a lot of talent for cheap. Would anyone want to touch this guy?

I also noticed Peerless Price was released again... he may be done forever. We kinda already have one of these type of guys in Quincy Morgan. I would like to see a bigger faster WR opposite Ward... either draft one, bring in a FA, or give Quincy a chance.

Charles Rogers was healthy and ready to play after what he thought was a good week of practice.

Before the Detroit Lions lost to Minnesota yesterday, interim coach Dick Jauron chose to deactivate Rogers.

Jauron said the move was made because other players were needed to play special teams.

"I was a little shocked," Rogers said.

Rogers, the second pick overall in 2003, refused to speculate on his future with the Lions.

Clearly, it doesn't look good.

Rogers was suspended for four games earlier this year for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. He was eligible to return against Minnesota Nov. 6, but former coach Steve Mariucci left him home after a lackluster week of practice.

The Lions have filed a grievance against Rogers, seeking a return of $10.1 million of his $14.4 million signing bonus because when he was suspended for four games he was in default, according to his contract.

"Between the Dallas game and this game a lot of things have changed," said Rogers, referring to the Nov. 20 game when the grievance against him became public.

Rogers has 11 catches for 126 yards in six games this season and has not scored since his rookie year.

Wouldnt mind us taking a shot at burleson and taking him away from the vikings.... Rogers was a huge talent but his injuries would worry me some.

His price tag will be high because of the amount of dope he buys on a weekly basis. Without drugs, Rogers would be playing. The injuries are BS. Steelers need quality and "character" people. Not two-bit thugs, stone hands (Quincy Morgan) or dope addicts.

No C-Rodge, please.

The guy has been a bust in Detroit, IMO. He has been "injured" and suspended for drugs and it's obvious the Lions have given up the guy. How bad do you have to be to have that franchise give up on you?

I'm not saying they're geniuses in D-town, obvioulsy, but even MeatHead Millen sees that they made a mistake with this dude. Pittsburgh isn't the team where you go to rebuild your rep, unless you're the Bus, so I don't really see Rogers as a good fit.

I do like Brandon Lloyd, aka "Tha Playa," but at six-feet I don't think he fills the need for a big reciever. While it could be argued that big receivers aren't all that necessary -- take Indy's combo of Harrison and Wayne -- right now nobody would confuse Ben's accuracy w/Ol' Peyton's so the taller a guy is, the better.

So who does that leave? Well, I thought Cedric Wilson was supposed to be the answer but maybe that's not the case. I love ARE's versatility but I'm not sure how valuable he is to the passing game. I mean, if he left how much would he be missed?

One guy that intrigues me, though, is Joe J. Sure he's not really all that young but he seems to find the endzone. -- 7 TD. His 12 YPC is a little troubling, though. Especially since Miller seems to be the main red zone receiver. I don't think that a team could really have too many, RZ threats unless it affects speed, so maybe Jurevicius isn't the answer.

Who does that leave that seems like they could really make a difference. I know of one guy out there but he's like the evil who's name I dare not speak. He's probably good for a one-year deal but boy, what a risk. Unless it works.

I want Troy Brown. Not Charles. I don't want someone who will just play benchwarmer all season.
