Default The Home Stretch...

This is it. A few weeks. A handful of meaningful games. This week is pretty tame, but it heats up quickly in the following weeks.

BYU-Utah in the battle of undefeated non-BCS teams that would get killed in a NC game. Still, the winner gets an at-large, so...

Texas Tech-Oklahoma very good match-up...TT winning has the fast track to the NCG if they can get past Missouri in the conference championship game. OU has a harder path.

Florida-SC I'm including this because of the Spurrier factor, but how long can the C ocks get traction out of that? Florida is in the Swamp, too.

Oklahoma-Oklahoma State just a brutal schedule for the Sooners. If they can win out they are the most deserving representative for the big game. Tall task though.

Bama-Auburn Yeah, yeah, Auburn sucks, but this is a rivalry, and Auburn has talent. Alabama is not explosive and the Tigers still play D. Think Auburn wouldn't sell their souls to knock Bama out of the title hunt in the Iron Bowl?

Conference Champs of the SEC and Big 12 will almost certainly be the two teams in the big game. USC is still there, of course, but I don't see that happening.

This thread seems to be generating about as much excitement as a diet on a fat farm.

Predictions?

Utah over BYU
TT over Oklahoma State
Oklahoma over TT
UF over SC
Upset Special- Bama chokes against Auburn (I only pick this because out of the remaining contenders, the only teams I WANT to see in the NCG are TT and Bama...figure if I pick against them both I have a real chance of maybe seeing that game)

Utah wins, but BYU is not undefeated. They have 1 loss.

If Oklahoma beats TT, what happens in the Big 12? Somebody gets screwed.

Also, if Florida beats Bama in the SEC title game, a lot of 1 loss teams will be left out.

My Predictions:

TT over Oklahoma St.
TT over Oklahoma
UF over SC-although SC does have the #3 or 4 ranked defense. The old ball coach is 0-11 in Gainsville.
Bama over Auburn

I don't foresee any teams getting upset. If there was one game I think has the biggest potential for that happening it would be Auburn over Bama. Not only is that such a huge rivalry but the Tigers having a chance to knock off the #1 team...they have got to be chomping at the bit to make that happen! Auburn is going to be so fired up for this game and so intense and I think very focused. And we saw what happened in the Penn State/Iowa game...so anything is possible..

I am not sure who I want to see play in the NCG. TT vs Bama probably would be the best match up. I remember watching ESPN one morning( Mike and Mike) and they had Kirk Herbstreit( sorry if I misspelled that) on and he mentioned he felt the two best teams were Florida and Oklahoma. I am pretty sure it was OK. I know one of them was Florida. I was a little shocked at that. Those are both great teams and very exciting to watch, but I wouldn't put them ahead of TT or Bama or even Texas.

I do know I am going to have fun just sitting back and watching what unfolds ...I LOVE college football!

I hope the gumps and Benenick Arnold lose. I also don't want to see Southern Cal in Miami because I'm sick of the media overrating them.

Florida is going to destroy Alabama. The Gators are going to be one of the two teams in the NCG. They are playing phenomenal football and at the right time.

I think i have it as Oklahoma and Florida. TT is so powerful offensively though...I don't know...

I won't be surprised in any manner what so ever if this were the game.

TT Florida would be entertaining as well. Texas Florida also.
