I still say they have the absolute worst defense of any of the playoff teams. Their front 7 is very soft, despite some streaky play. What are you bengal fan's expectations for this year? Do you guys think you can outscore the Colts, Broncos, Chargers? Keep in mind thos teams all have better D's. Hell, i still think if the Steelers get in, no one will want to play us, we'll be dangerous. But i'm just curious as to how you Bengal fans feel about your teams chances.

I wouldnt' call them the absolute worst. They do have a fairly good secondary (ex. Deltha O'Neal leading the league in interceptions). But still think they're better than the likes of the Patriots (Even with the Patriots Injuries). If the Patriots weren't so beat up, I don't know, they might be better than the Bengals D, but as they are Cinci's is better IMO.

That works. lol
The just rely on their offense to win shootouts ALL the time, which will bite them in the ass in the playoffs. |

The bengals inability to stop the run will be there downfall... the playoffs are all about the best teams in the league, and if u cant stop the run ur not gonna go anywhere. Sure you can score alot of points, but if you cant stop the run, ur defense will be out there all day long and will inevitably give up more than you can score.

I have said before unless we absolutely get it done with offense our run D will kill us.....But as for worst D remember the secondary has a lot of picks including 4 on Ben.

Our defense, believe it or not, is one of the reasons we are doing as well as we are right now. Bare with me here...our defense bends a whole lot (especially in the running game), but we force so many turnovers that it always bails us out.
We don't turn the ball over and we force a lot of turnovers (leading the league in turnover ratio by a mile)...I think if we can keep doing that we will have a chance, but no question the defensive line has to improve. However, I think Cincinnati could beat any team except the Colts in a shoot-out. That's the type of game that the Bengals want to force the other team into, because they can light up the scoreboard without turning the ball over and they know that eventually the other team is going to make a mistake (i.e. turn the ball over) and the Bengals will be able to jump on it. A little unorthodox, but hey, it works. |

The Bengals just got into a shootout and would have lost if not for a few ball bounce's here and there, namely the fumbled punt that wasn't called, the Ward dropped TD and TJ's stolen TD pass. I'm even including the Steelers 4 fumbles and 3 INT's.
