Default Steelers release Baker

KDKA states that the Steelers have cut WR Dallas Baker and promoted CB Roy Lewis.

Wow, cut the number 4 receiver. Just goes to show the depth chart means nothing. No way they cut a number two draft pick in Sweed because someone else would pick him up. Have to give him another year.

I am a bit surprised they would cut him while Miller is still out though.

What is Willie reed doing right now?

Dallas seems to be a better practice player than game player.....he had one hit him right in the numbers last game and couldnt come down with it....

Thats too bad....I like to cheer for the underdog and hoped that he might pan out.

Ya, Baker seems to be an advocate of the "catch and release" program.....

I think he is currently employed as a "sponge technician" at an "automobile care center" (IOW, a rag man at a car wash).

At UF, Baker was a tough as nails player who played injured a good portion of his college career, a Steeler type guy. He also had great hands, not what he's displayed with his short chance with the Big club.

Don't rule him out on a return to the Steelers.

LOL, he probably drops the sponge when one is thrown at him.

Loved lewis in preseason, and right now they need the depth at CB

Sucks that baker can't go to a practice squad now though
