I don't see how you can lay sod over the existing field and expect it to be any better than last year. That was worse than leaving it the way it was.
Yeah, that just doesn't sound like something that would work. Unless you actually tear out the old stuff, you're just going to make it worse. Would it really take that much longer?

The other thing is, they really need to find a better place to play the high school games. Yeah, it might be neat to go play in the big stadium, but there are plenty of big stadiums.

Yes, like the kid could be a Browns fan, and instead of his jersey, Troy throws him his jockstrap. And it hits the kid in the face, and he starts crying.

that would be a cool juxtaposition. mean joe was the mean guy doing the nice thing. here we would have the nice guy (troy) doing the mean thing.

It'll work if it's given time to settle in. Having 2 days of nice weather on Sunday and Monday will certainly help, and there's no heavy rain scheduled at all next week. It should be OK by Friday for the Pitt/WVU game, and the Steelers don't play at home again until the following week so it should be fine then as well.

I'd like for them to play the high school games elsewhere, but there just aren't any other big stadiums around here. What I'd really wish would happen would be for Pitt to find somewhere to build their own football stadium. It's not like there aren't plenty of crappy, dilapidated houses and buildings in South Oakland that can't be demolished to make room for one.

They should use hampton and have a shot of the kid smothered under his jersey like someone threw a tarp over him.

Actually, I think the commercial is a cool idea. There's millions of new generation football l fans that don't remember the old commercial. It's a great compliment to Troy to be associated with a football legend like Mean Joe Green. Troy is a legend in the making.

And they're both Steelers.
