RIP John Lennon who was assassinated today 28 years ago by a nutjob Beatles fanatic. Miss ya John.

Great call! I was only 8 when he was murdered. And I didn't appreciate his contributions to music until I was 14 I guess. He was a musical genius. I had heard Lennon signed an album for Chapman earlier on the same day he was murdered.

4 years ago Dimbag Darrell was murdered on stage in Columbus Ohio. 2 people who influenced my life dead on the same day, its very sad. Even worse for 8 bucks I couldve been at the show where Dime was killed.

I was an 11 year old watching MNF when Howard Cossel broke the news. Sad news, I'd always loved the Beatles and John Lennon's music.

Being a little older than some of the above posters, I was a huge Beatles fan in the 60's and was IN LOVE with John Lennon. While all the girls were lusting after Paul, I was the odd one that wanted John!!

RIP John

Today also would have been Jim Morrison's 65th birthday.

I was 15 when Lennon was murdered, and I remember I couldn't believe it when I heard. It was unfathomable that someone who was such a cultural icon could have been taken that way. RIP John

RIP Dimebag
That was horrible - I'm glad I got to see Pantera and Dimebag live 4 times. He was an amazing guitar player.
