Scouts Inc makes me go huh?

Somtimes I think their analysis is pretty good. Then there are times like this. Read the following and tell me younz guys think:

Pittsburgh
• Despite special-teams gaffes by their kicking specialists, poor pass protection when the Cowboys forced Pittsburgh to throw, ineffective goal line running and a plethora of turnovers and several other mistakes, QB Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers' defense pulled out a hard-fought victory. The Pittsburgh defense is the best in the league and combines with Roethlisberger to create a heck of a foundation to build a team on.

Dallas
• The Steelers got to QB Tony Romo at times, but Romo was terrific at identifying the different pressures Pittsburgh threw at him. He buys time as well as any quarterback in the league, with an impressive blend of athletic ability and feel for the pocket. He looks to make plays downfield with his arm while avoiding the rush, putting a ton of pressure on opposing secondaries. He always seems to be in balance, and he sets and throws remarkably quickly, even when his surroundings are crumbling. Considering he didn't play for a college powerhouse and hasn't started a lot of games in the NFL, these skills are even more impressive.

WTF!! Ok, so maybe the anaysis of the Steelers is not too bad. On the other hand, did they not notice that Tony threw multiple int's, and TO only had one meaningful catch.?Tony had one impressive play with the scramble and then TD to TO. The only reason offense that Dallas got going most of the game was those long runs on draw plays and a few underneath passes to Whiitten. If he had a terrific game identifying the Steelers pressures, then he must just truly be color blind.

Okay, here's what kills me about all the Romo love. I admit I haven't seen that many Dallas games, but the ones I have seen where they Cowboys lost, Romo has lost singlehandedly. As in, all by himself. As in, it was all his fault. Muffed hold for the kicker a couple of years ago, an interception in the (first round of the) playoffs last year, interception last week to Townsend. Why he gets so much love for choking on the big games, I don't know.

I admit I don't know much about football, compared to the rest of you. Perhaps y'all can explain it to me.

I think that the analysis is based on the game last week alone....and since the last interception was Wittens fault, Scout Inc is giving him a bye.

But your exactly right...it is very easy to get in Romo's head and when you do...he turns to jelly.

Oh yeah...like the one to Troy.

I still think that, right or wrong, Romo gets the benefit of the doubt from most writers due to several things...WR's running the wrong route..(like I said before)...and a VERY undisciplined WR corps.

I, like you, see an interception and automatically write it off as a QB with his head up his rear-end...but in reality, it can be the direct result of a bad route by the WR..or simply a WR who takes the play off and leaves the QB and his primary reciever out to dry by making it obvious the ball is going to the other side of the field and allowing the defense to "cheat" over to the hot read.

All that being said...Your still correct in saying that the media seems to place Romo in the category of an elite QB...when in reality he is second-tier.

Speaking of Troy's interception, last week's game made me think that I had never seen so many turnovers translate into so few points. At least in the first half. Good from one perspective, bad on the other. I hope that our offense can do better with any given opportunities today.
