Default Steelers take Ravens, 13 - 9

The bold is mine.... They goofed the story. That was the 3rd down play because all the talk during the review was "Do you go for it on 4th and inches?"

Steelers take Ravens, 13-9
Sunday, December 14, 2008
By Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

BALTIMORE -- Santonio Holmes caught a disputed 4-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger with 43 seconds left to give the Steelers a rough-and-tumble 13-9 victory over the Baltimore Ravens and the AFC North Division championship and a first-week bye in the playoffs.

Roethlsiberger scrambled on fourth down to his left, stopped and threw to the right, where Holmes was barely into the end zone. He caught it, but the officials ruled it short of the goalline.

A replay review, though, showed that Holmes had both feet in the end zone when he caught the ball for the touchdown.

The score ended a dramatic 92-yard drive that started after linebacker Lawrence Timmons sacked Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco out of field goal range from the Steelers 27 to the 41, to force a punt.

The Steelers won their fifth in a row to go 11-3 and clinch at least the No. 2 seed in the conference. They would get the upper hand on the top seed if they win at Tennessee next Sunday.

Baltimore slipped to 9-5, still alive for one of two wildcard playoff berths in the AFC.

WHAT A GAME!!!!!! I was kinda pissed at Santonio. He let the kick go by that the Ravens downed on the 1 yard line, then the fumble. But he more than atoned for himself. This is the kind of win that championship teams win. Now let's get the Titans and secure home field throughout the playoffs.

That's not entirely accurate

Houston scored 14 in the 4th
Cleveland scored 3
Philly scored 5
Baltimore scored 7 (game 1)
Jags scored 7
Cincy 0
Giants scored 12
Skins 0
Indy 7
Chargers 3
Cincy 3
Patriots 0
Dallas 0
Ravens 0

So really, its only the last 3 games we've shut people out in the 4th quarter.

I had faith. Most analysts including everyone I knew picked the Ravens. Boy do they look stupid. Go Steelers!

Big time victory for the Steelers last night. Now all the talking heads look stupid for thinking Flacco and that vaunted Rats defense would shut us down.
