Great post Mongo......That's the play that turned this franchise around. I actually have a panoramic shot of this play signed by Franco Harris, Terry Bradshaw, Frenchy Fuqua, John McMakin, Art Thoms, Jack Tatum and Dan Conners.

It's hard to believe that it has been 36 years ago that play will live in my mind forever.

How did this play turn the franchise around? The Steelers lost in the AFCC the next week to the unbeaten dolphins and the following year we were eliminated in the first round by the Raiders.

The 1974 AFCC against the Raiders turned this franchise into champions.

I will NEVER forget the Immaculate Reception. I was there with my Dad that day and many of the people in our section at TRS had left already or were on their way out when that play happened. As my late father was a diehard Steelers fan, we never left a game early!

The Chief never got to see the actual play live, as he was on his way down to his office when it happened and heard the entire stadium erupt above him! I saw the play "The Chief" and also read the book - fascinating stuff!

That win vs the Raiders in '72 was their first playoff appearance. And if not, it was their first playoff win. First of many to come. And that team was only missing the draft class of '74 to become the most dominant dynasty in football history.

OMG, I'm wicked jealous right now. To be there for arguably the greatest play in football history! That's so f**kin cool.

The best part of the "after" the play is every time someone mentions it to John Madden!!!
