Default "The Painful Truth"

i'm sitting here watching ESPN like i always do when my girlfriend is at work. she wouldn't let me otherwise. haha! and i'm watching this thing called "The Painful Truth" about NFL players dealing with pain and playing through the games. like McNabb breaking his ankle 7 years ago and Jack younglbood breaking his leg with the Rams back in the day.

they didn't even mention the Steelers or anyone involved with the franchise. the only thing Steeler related was James Harrison back to back suplexing Chad Johnson and putting him out of the game that week. a GREAT replay and a cool highlight, but where's the love for one of THE toughest teams in NFL history with countless number of players whooping ass while being hurt and whatnot!? where's the love ESPN? i guess the painful truth is the Steelers don't deserve airtime unless they lose or have controversial calls on their behalf.

whatever.

We can't expect Pittsburgh to get any love from the Coast-loving media elite. Unless you're in Cali or New York, you don't exist (as far as they're concerned).

But the results are what they are. The last time I checked, the Steelers still have five Lombardi Trophies.

No doubt espn does suck and, you are right they only talk about us if they have to. Or if we lose a game we should win but, hopefully once we win it all this year they will have no choice about the matter.

Why exactly do people continue to watch espn anyway?

watch a soap, there's no difference between the two right now

There is a big difference. At least you can find out if Hellen is pregnant be Jacks room mates father.

Soaps are much better.

i just don't get how a great story like that doesn't include an of the icons of black and gold. when the teams makes the cover of their damn magazine AND Sports Illustrated. what a pickle!? ha!

yeah, whatever.

i know people have personal gripes with espn, but to pretend that there is some media bias or blackout of anything steelers is completely rediculous. there are 31 other teams in the league and it seems many steelerfans expect the type of steeler coverage that would be found on fox sports pittsburgh.

just 2 weeks ago there was an excellent interview with james harrison and tom jackson, one htat those outside the burgh would hardly ever see or hear.

on christmas eve, they ran a story about lebeau reading the team "twas the night before christmas", comlete with new footage from lebeau, lloyd, greene, and woodley.

hell, the best match-up show out there, has been hosted by one of the biggest steeler homers for years (m. hoge).

even mark malone was a longtime host of nfl live and k. greene had a short stint.

when espn clipped together old film to simulate the greatest teams of all time matching off in playoffs and the superbowl, they had the steelers beating the 49ers.

jack youngblood and d. mcnabb playing with broken bones are things of lore.

steelers have their own lore, such as the immaculate reception, or swanns miracle catches, or even bens tackle.

dont hate.... appreciate.

i watched the thing on LeBeau and the Christmas story...top notch entertainment! haha!

i appreciate when the sports channels talk about the Steelers and i always try to watch when i get the chance. but maybe i miss more than i see and i can't continue to bitch about it. but it'd be nice to get SOME love. because after we murder the Browns tomorrow all the media is going to talk about it how uneccesary the game was and how we cruised into the playoffs.
