'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE THE PLAYOFFS

'Twas the night before the playoffs, before the opening kick
With the Bengals contemplating the upcoming drafts 2nd pick
The Steelers playbooks were hung by the lockers with care,
in hopes that the sixth Lombardi soon would be there.

In my dreams they take to the field with smoke machines and yelling
In hopes that their O-line soon would be gelling.
As halftime draws near, they'll prepare for the junction
..and Tony Hipchest hoping for a wardrobe malfunction.

With their headseted-coach, so lively and quick,
who doesnt have to cheat...hey ...he aint Belichick.
More rapid than blitzes, the fans will grow insane,
they will whistle and shout and call players by name:

"Now Willie! Now Hines!
Now, Santonio and Gary!
On, Big Ben! On, Troy!
On, James and on Larry!
To the top of the scoreboard!
To the top of them all
Now bombs away! Bombs away!
Bombs away all!"

When the clock hit zero, and they know they are done,
it will finally be time for them to have fun!
The confetti will fall and it will feel great
"Get my agent on the phone! It's time to renegotiate!"

With Tomlin at the podium, to his team he will shout,
and they will all answer -- "that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!"
And Ben will exclaim, with the title banner unfurled
......"What will I do next? I'm going to Disney World!"
