my brother, who is the curator of the utep art museum, just called and said the "village people" (are they still alive?) will be playing the YMCA at halftime for the guiness book of world records for the largest ymca dance EVER!

what an absolutely horrible football game. you'd like to say if you love defensive football this is what its all about, but it was more of just offensive ineptitude.

mccoy for pitt looked ok and #22 francis for the beavers had a few runs. both qb's pretty much sucked.

what is unfortunate is it seemed the best player on the entire field was #7 punter for osu (hekker?).

what is sad is the dude looked like a beast and he is a spitting image of napoleon dynamite!

he was booming perfect spiral punts into the wind, many of which couldnt be returned, were fair caught, or fell dead inside the 10 yd line.

awesome

a few highlights- it was the 75th anniversary of the sun bowl so i got a cool free hat.

they honored 75 past players who had good showings in the sun bowl. preist holmes was an honorary coin flipper or something, and they brought tony dorsett onto the field. the entire PITT side of the stadium erupted in applause and cheers. that was nice to see.

michael irvin was there as a spectator and walked through the crowd like a semi normal person.

i didnt have to walk too far for a smoke and could still see the jumbotron.

that was about it.

oh... and i get to be a part of "history" with the freaking village people.

no i didnt dance... ive never done the ymca and dont know the macarena.

heres to hoping pitt basketball does better this year....

Pitt should be thankful the Rogers brothers didn't play. It would've been a much uglier game.

no, not at all. i would call it a cool breeze. the announcers were probably just saying that because some army paratroopers were supposed to deliver the game ball but the jump was canceled because of the wind. i was suprised cause it didnt seem windy at all to me (of course the entire stadium is pretty much shielded by and built into the hills. it was announced the "winds" were about 10-15 mph.

fwiw, napoleon dynamite had 2 of his best and longest punts going into the "wind".

the problem was that neither qb could hit the broad side of a barn in even the most perfect conditions. there wasnt 1 pass completed in stride the entire day. it was like watching a high school championship game from a non-football state.

but the PITT band absolutely destroyed OSU (about half the size). osu's band pretty much sucked and almost seemed ashamed to be sharing the field with pitt.

and i hate to say it, or think this way, but i have to wonder if ANY black people even live in oregon. that had to be the whitest team, fanbase, band, cheerleading corps, i have ever seen (we sat on the visitors side).
