Default Don't know his name, but he did a great job

I don't know who this person is, and I'm too lazy to look it up right now. But whoever our special teams coach is did one heck of a job this year. In the last 5 years, It seemed we lost at least one game every year due to coverage problems and that hasn't been the case this year. The Harrison bad snap may have cost us that game, but nobody carries a backup long snapper and that's just one of those crazy situations.

In year's past, I remember repeatedly getting burned for the big return on special teams. That has not been the case this year as our coverage and tackling has been great. I don't get that sick feeling anymore on kicks. Except that our punter might shank one about 25 yards. But that's not the coaches fault. If Sepulveda didn't get hurt our kick and punt coverage would be deadly this year.

On the returns we haven't been breaking any for TD's but the ball handling has been much improved as I don't remember giving any big TO's away in the return game this year.

Also, like to call out thanks to a few guys on special teams who have consistently made plays this year.
Fox, Bailey, and Woods were nice additions and have a nose for the ball on coverage.

That would be Bob Ligashesky, and yes, he did a tremendous job with the special teams coverage this season. I haven't seen it that good since Bobby April was ST coach in the mid 90s.

This year the special teams coverage was fixed. Next year it's the kickoff and puts returners. Mark my words

It's because they went out of their way to pick up some special teams players. Keyaron Fox was a steal among others. Timmons has played well there as well. I have actually not had to cringe once this year on a punt. How awesome is that?

It's probably just Harrison intimidating everyone. I mean, most special teamers are 2nd string guys or lower end starters. Wouldn't you be scared out of your mind to have to go against a dude that was considered for NFL MVP?

ST coverage has been good, but our Kick and punt return still remain to be garbage.

Please refer to last season. Everybody was ready to throw this guy under a bus, just like everybody wants to do with Bruce Arian and Larry Zeirline currently.

I just see S.T. play more as a reflection of the depth on a team because better players are out there on the field.

Of course, Cowher promised every year for years and years we would have better S.T.'s, and never did, so coaching must be a help.
