serious question.

i hope this thread doesn't get alot of heat for the topic, but i honestly have a serious question regarding the NFL. it's simple...

are there any openly homosexual players in the NFL?

i've only heard of a few players in other sports. but not the NFL. what are your theories?

I havent heard of any that have come out of the closet while playing, but it stands to reason that there probably are.

I heard a great interview from former Penn St. basketball player and NBA player John Amechie who came out. He said he was asked by former Utah Jazz teamate if he was gay and his response was..."you have nothing to worry about." I used to be a homophobic when a younger kid, but now realize that its not a conscious choice....gay is gay and gay guys really don't hit on straight guys.

I think there was someone who came out and did an interview with 60 Minutes after he retired. But I know of no one currently.

I would guess there are more than a few. I mean odds are out of THAT many guys, there has to be a handful, right?

I can't remember if it was that or another special where they basically talked to a guy and used Jeff Garcia as a reference.

Basically, look at the ridiculous crap Jeff Garcia went through... and he's not even gay! Actually, Jeff Garcia's wife is WAYYY too hot for him, IMO.

So he got the last laugh.

I like Jeff Garcia for what he shows on the field as a player & like his attitude. Too bad TO couldn't be of the same mindset.
Speaking of TO, it kind of makes me wonder about his own sexuality..Maybe he is the one who is getting emotionally involved with quarterbacks who are not gay & then he turns around & acts like a woman scorned when he doesn't get the attention he feels that he deserves?
Not that I have anything against gays or scorned women by God, but it strikes me as kind of strange.
