End of season closure poem ..

This year is over - the season is done
We ended with a conference best record of 15-1
We came off a season last year of 6-10
We started this season with Tommy and ended with Ben
No one could have guessed we would make it so far
Or that Ben would become a rookie quarterback star
This team came together in a special way
We found we could win no matter who came to play
Unfortunately, we couldn't take that into the championship game
But we still made it that far - there is no shame
Even though we dislike the Pats - we lost to a good team
That doesn't mean we didn't yell and scream
After the game a lot of emotional things were said
Talk of players leaving and tears were shed
Bettis talked of retirement and that makes us all sad
He's one of the best players the NFL has ever had
He was also a huge part of this year's magic
To lose any of that would certainly be tragic
Now the Steelers have left Heinz Field
After a while our broken hearts will have healed
Just know that this was a season like none other before
And even though we didn't come out with the winning score
Our future looks bright for years to come
Ben and the guys will bring us one for the thumb!

damnit girl... I thought I was done crying over the 2004 season now!!

That was an excellent way to reflect, and to look forward... :)

Oh the opposite for me. I could not have had anyone state the season any better and leave me with that warm fuzzy this season gave me. Thanks girl!

Wow! I wish I had mastered the English Language as well as you. Maybe I should not have slept through English class for so many years. Thanks for putting down in writing what we've all been thinking but unable to express. (Maybe females have a better grasp of sensitive expression - like we didn't already know that!?!)

Steelers had the best season I've ever watched. Very exciting!

Stinks the Patriots went all the way. Living around Philly, I'll be around their mourning. I'll be able to relate to that.

One for the thumb on Super Bowl XL! (This is the last time I want to say "one for the thumb'!)
