Default From Ravens fan - I think Steelers have us in a bad spot

Many folks are predicting another close bloodbath.
Generally you can throw out any previous stats or whatever when these two
teams meet.

But I have to call this the way I see it.
The Ravens have not had a week off since week 3. The defense was on the field forever against the Titans, and we looked tired. Lots of missed tackles is a sign of a team being tired. Add to that, the Ravens got beat up pretty bad. Some of those players may not be back for Sunday. Including Suggs, who is a must-have player against the Steelers. This becomes even more important because Antwan Barnes who is a good Suggs replacement is also questionable. Barnes has not played for several weeks. For those who do not know, Barnes is a Hybrid sack specialist like Suggs and as a second year player shows plenty of promise.

The Steelers looked fresh and were not punished physically against the Chargers.
I think this is a very tall order for the Ravens now. Even to the point where I think the Steelers should be favored by 7.

The one thing that I am confident about the Ravens is that our QB will not lose this game for us. This guy simply does not get rattled into making mistakes. I have a relative that works at the University of Delaware and has been close to that football team. Joe does not get ‘rattled’, upset, or otherwise. Apparently it’s genetic because reports of the same go all the way back to high school. In some circles this guy’s composure is quietly legendary. That was validated all season. Not once was there a situation that could have been considered ‘rattled’, whereby emotion or getting hit hard made a difference. Word has it that it has never happened going all the way back to pee wee league. So forget about that. He might get beaten or outplayed but not rattled into errors.

Ravens are going to have to bring a game where the Offense stays on the field for long stretches. Again, I think that might be too much to ask against the Steeler Defense. The Ravens need rest and recovery time. If they do pull this off, I think it would be a monumental accomplishment.

Either way, the AFC North will remain securely in the hands of Pittsburgh and Baltimore for many a year to come. So I'm looking forward to more battles and what should be hailed as the greatest rivalry of the modern NFL. Good luck. No carreer ending injuries please.

Im must say Flacco has been extremely impressive by passing rookie standards.

If you look at the group of QBs in the next 5-7 years when all the mannings and bradys mcnabbs will be on the tail end the AFC North is going to be loaded

Palmer
Roethliberger
Quinn
Flacco

=

Yikes

I'd really like to disagree with every point you've made here, but I can't. Because it is all basically true. Whether or not it will be the determining factor remains to be seen starting 6:30 EST this Sunday.

No matter what, the Ravens will play their guts out. Of that I'm 110% sure.

They'll leave it all on the field, but the tank is pretty empty by now. Barring some weird melt-down, the Steelers will handle the Rats. They just don't have the offense to hang with us.

24-10 and sticking with it.

If we play even remotely close to how we played against the chargers...it will be a blowout like that. Ravens havent had a week off since week 2, and they got beat up last week against Tennessee. Suggs, Rolle, Leonard, McClain, all got hurt, the severity of these injuries are up in the air...but they arent healthy like us.

CANT WAIT.

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!!!

Been waiting for Flacco to have his rookie game and choke all season.

Never happened, and I agree... I dont think it's going to. He really reminds me of another Big Ben.

Don't count them out yet.....I thought the same way about the Steelers going into the playoffs a few years ago...
