Default How early to take a LB in the draft?

Since bell is now gone, and Foote has stepped in, we're gonna have to draft some depth at ILB and possibly OLB. Haggans and Porter are the starters. and Harrison is a capable backup, as is Jackson, but other kreidwalt, there's 0 depth on the inside.

I think we will pick up a free agent in the next week or so. But I do beleive within the first three rounds the next all pro linebacker will be drafted. he probably listed as a DE in college but that will change

Yeah I think so as well. I could justify it no earlier than the 3rd though, unless an absolute guarnateed steal fell into our laps in the second round.

Linebackers like ours our mid round guys. Betweeners that we take from the line and mold to LB's. I agree and say 3-4 rounds and maybe both. I do see us going TE, CB, OT early though. The first two for need, and OT early because decent ones are so hard to find nowadays and we are starting to lose depth everywhere.

Holmes, Gildon, Lloyd, etc. All have been later pics than you'd think for thier success. Credit out scouting dept for finding guys like this. LB's cant just step in, in year 1 anyways and make an impact. It takes a couple years to learn the 3-4 in and out to play it correctly..so no matter who we get, it'll be a project of some degree

I remember chad brown was a beast when we drafted him in the first round. He played well for us. One of the few times we've ever taken a LB that high.
