Madden NFL 09 Super Bowl XLIII

It’s that time of year again. EA Sports is making a prediction about a championship. In past years, Madden NFL has been pretty accurate predicting the Super Bowl winners.

Over the past five years, the game actually had a perfect record going into Super Bowl XLII. But then the Giants happened. (God bless, you Big Blue.) The Giants stomped the Patriots, defying the predicted 38-30 score.

This year, Madden NFL 09 says that the Pittsburgh Steelers will be your Super Bowl champions. The score will be 28-24 with Pittsburgh fending off one last charge by the Arizona Cardinals. Frankly, I hope this isn’t true.

An MVP performance by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger earned the Pittsburgh Steelers an unprecedented sixth NFL championship in an EA Sports video game simulation of the Super Bowl.

In the Madden NFL 09 simulation, Pittsburgh defeats the upstart Arizona Cardinals 28-24, with Roethlisberger leading the way with three touchdown passes. But the AFC champions hold off a spirited fourth-quarter comeback by the Cardinals to register their second title in four years.

Pittsburgh dominates the opening half, talking a 21-7 halftime lead. Roethlisberger throws TD strikes of 10 and 13 yards to Santonio Holmes and Hines Ward, respectively, while Willie Parker runs 10 yards for the other score. Edggerin James' eight-yard run accounts for Arizona's lone touchdown.

The Cardinals cut the lead to 21-14 in the third when James runs 14 yards for his second touchdown of the game. The Steelers counter with Roethlisberger throwing another TD pass to Holmes to take a 28-14 lead at the close of the quarter.

Kurt Warner hits Larry Fitzgerald on a 15-yard TD pass in the fourth before Neil Rackers hits a 45-yard field goal with 3:15 left to play to cut Pittsburgh's lead to 28-24.

In my own Madden simulations, the Steelers are 4-0 so far winning by 7 or more each time. They should just give us the trophy now, and let's move on to the off-season hehehe.

I've played SB 43 twice on M2K9, with the Steelers winning 42-21 and 49-13. In the second contest, the Cards' only TD came literally on the last play of regulation.

Unless it is a blow-out with complete utter destruction and domination, then I will not be satisfied. Real football insiders are predicting a devastatingly one-sided game while the media is still trying to sell it past the 3rd quarter.

While I don't believe the Steelers will put up 49 points on the Cards D, though they're nothing to write home about, I don't think the Cards will put 24 on the board against the Steelers D.

My simulation (prediction) has the Steelers winning 30-17.

I played Steelers vs Cardinals on madden with me being the Steelers on All madden and I won 30-24 in OT

I play madden online a lot and have been spanking the cardinals all week. It never gets old.

Unfortunately, I can't see Madden as having a realistic simulation...lol! It has never been that way for me over the years of playing!
