Default What is up with these confident Cards fans?

They sound like Chargers fans.

Aw, leave 'em alone. They, like their team, are not used to success.

Guys - we've been there many times before - this is the Arizona Cards first shot at a Super Bowl title, so I can understand their excitement. I was just as excited for Super Bowl IX in 1974.

I have no problem with those who have followed the team for all of the years when they were "bird seed", but from what I find laughable are the "fans" who hopped on their bandwagon this season, swing from BB to BB like Tarzan thumping their chests as though they're the greatest thing since cheesecake. Sure they've had a "Cinderella season" and have played well in the playoffs (coming into the postseason with a 9-7 record as champs of the NFC West), but they just don't seem to take our D as seriously as they should and all we seem to hear is . . . . but, but, but Warner & Fitz. Dick Lebeau is a very experienced, seasoned and well respected NFL DC - they don't seem to take him seriously either and that just may be their biggest mistake.

The clock is going to strike midnight for Cinderella on February 1, 2009.

Nobody is taking your defense lightly, but we are hopeful this Cardinals offense can do something against it. We realize it won't be much, but we're hoping that we can avoid costly mistakes and do just enough to squeeze out the win. We also realize that if we don't avoid the mistakes that this game could get ugly fast. We're just hopeful that's all.

the cardinals have made the big game and their fans have every right to be confident.

you make it too the bowl and you earn that. the giants fans had every right to be confident last season.

i was sure our 95 steelers would slay the giant in '95.

we almost did too.

that being said, i am just as confident and perhaps moreso.

i expect utter destruction. (49ers vs chargers style).

the cards did a nice job with the falcons and panthers, they played very well, the question is....WILL they play well sunday? the cards ain't exactly been the consistent offensive juggernaut, they were the last 2 weeks. thus the 9-7 record against a VERY weak schedule. the steelers on the other hand have been Very consistent on defense.

I could see it being Cowboys vs Bills style. I hope not, but there is that chance.

The Cards made it to the Super Bowl. Their fans ought to be confident.

I have got no problem with Cards fans getting fired up about a Super Bowl. I was like that when the Steelers made it to Super Bowl XL because it would eventually be the first time I could watch the Steelers win a Super Bowl.

Face it. They are only the 2nd 9-7 team to reach the Super Bowl. They are cinderella, on a roll, the underdog and have nothing to lose.

They can be as over the moon, optimistic as they want and nobody will question it. Yet, if the Steeler fans act the same way, we are labelled as arrogant and overconfident because we are expected to win.

I honestly think it will be like the Rams-Titans super bowl, with a good offense against a solid defensive team. The difference is that the Cards aint the "greatest show on turf" and the Steelers D is much better than the Titans was.

Steelers 27- Cardinals 20
