i read both his press conferences every week on steelers.com. great stuff always. i dont think any coach is more candid yet tactful with the media than cowher. i think he was a psych major in college and it shows. he always says the right things and keeps all things in its proper perspectiv. just a minor part of being a head coach but an important part nevertheless

>> On how he, as a coach, guards against a let down if San Diego does win and they are in the playoffs
“We have a degree of pride and we were in the situation a year ago when we went up to Buffalo and we had nothing on the line and they had to win the game to get into the playoffs and we were able to beat them up in Buffalo. Really it was because of the standards that have been set around here and how we play the game. We have talked about it before – it is not so much who plays, but it is how we play. I think that is the thing that has been so good around here; the veteran leadership and the expectations and standards that have been set allow us to deal with injury, allow us to deal with circumstances and so I am not concerned with that. We are going to approach this game like we have the last three weeks and looking it as a game that can get us into the playoffs and a game that we need to play well like we have the last couple of weeks. There is no time for letting up at this time of year.”
i kinda don't agree with the bolded part, i think it does matter if the starters play, we got to keep them sharp and ready for the playoffs, resting them just slows down the momentum they are building. the only time they should rest them is in after the third quarter during a blow out, but i think they should all play in the first half when the game matters so they can stay in good game shape and keep the momentum that they are building up
