SteelShooter at Work
Thought I would share some shots from an exercise that we played in, along with four other agencies, last month (January).

One last one; I am in my drysuit just goofing off for the camera at the end of a day's work. The water temp was 56 degrees with the air temp in the upper 30's to lower 40's during the mornings, warming to the 50's to lower 60's during the afternoon.

Nope..........Navy Chief. We work along with the USMC quite a bit though. What we specialize in, is to map the approaches to the beach. Essentially, we are mapping the bottom, finding obstructions, making sure assault vessels can get the Corps ashore during an assault.

Wow, E-7. That's awesome! So you've likely spent a lot of time with the Amphib fleet then.
I'm a former AK and was stationed on the USS Saipan (prior to it's decomissioning.) Did two Med Floats in 98/2000 with it. Was a great life...just not so hot for raising a family. If I could go back, I'd likely still be in (though as an SK now, due to the merger) and would likely be looking for Amphib ships to tour with. Was a great training opportunity!!!
