Default Mangini and the Browns - and then depression set in

Their own media is ripping them to shreds...

Mangini is man in charge, but he's not making friends

A Browns insider told me the atmosphere at headquarters is, to put it mildly, miserable. New Head Coach Eric Mangini is running the place like Napoleon.

Days after Mangini slobbered about the history and tradition of the team, he had a mural of former Browns greats taken down near the playersí entrance. OK, maybe he wants the team to make new history and quit living in the past, but they had better understand the past.

The Browns are ó hands down ó the worst operated pro team in Cleveland, and thatís all we could talk about?

We were incredulous at some of the teamís moves, such as owner Randy Lerner handing out close to $30 million in salaries, then purging his staff.

Many of us had friends who worked for the Browns. They were laid off from $50,000-per-year-type of jobs. Itís hard to wrap your head around that when Lerner is paying former Head Coach Romeo Crennel, former GM Phil Savage and former Offensive Coordinator Rob Chudzinski about $28 million not to work for the Browns next year. Thatís bad business, and thatís being a bad owner.

If you want to know what kind of flavor new GM George Kokinis has when talking to the media, stick a piece of notebook paper in your mouth and chew on it for a half hour.

I give Mangini and Kokinis no more than three years before Lerner has sold the team. Thatís right. Lerner will sell the team before he hires another head coach.

Mangini is alienating players already. At a recent public function that Mangini and Pro Bowler Shaun Rogers attended, Rogers said he had yet to meet Mangini but hoped to that night. A few minutes later, Mangini walked past Rogers, whoís hard to miss at 360 pounds, without introducing himself.

Yeah, I see how things are starting. Mangini will run off the guys who donít worship at his feet in the locker room, then need more ďtimeĒ to rebuild the roster, thus keeping Lernerís endless circle of rebuilding going.

If Lerner, Mangini and Kokinis fail, maybe heíll do us a favor and sell the Browns to LeBron James.

Why not wait two weeks and talk to Shanny? Or Gruden?

What a bunch of eff-ups...

i knew it was a bad move as soon as they hired him. the guy is a straight up asshole to everyone.. how do you expect the players to respect him and want to play for him? they could not have f'ed this up any more so than they did by hiring him. he had one good year, and 2 sh*t ones.. its almost like the browns are still trying to make up for letting belicheat go by hiring his coaching staff again now. they missed out on pioli or they would have taken him too.

Mangini is a douchebag.

You should hear Browns fans excitment about getting Rob Ryan as DC too. They think he's going to run this aggresive 3-4 style of defense, but they don't realize that Mangini is going to have him run the same boring 3-4 Romeo-style defense.

If Lerner would have been patient instead of shooting his wad in his pants when he learned of Mangini's firing, then he could of hired someone a few Browns fans I know really wanted...Rex Ryan.

I am not even going to bring up Gruden or Shannahan because nobody even knew those two were on the hot seat. Those were surprise firings, and I doubt either of them coach this year.

Shannahan will be a coach somewhere in 2010.....and Gruden will to, possibly Notre Dame after Fat Bastard gets fired.

Mangini....I mean "MANGINA" looks and acts like an ass.Browns fans think Mangina is their savior. He has no sense of humor just like Bielicheat! I do think he is a better coach than "The Walruss" but I don't think he is a players coach.Steelers still own the Browns!Bring it on "MANGINA!"

Never liked mangini, never will. I honestly thought he was the worst HC in the league even before he was a brown

Gonna be a tough season for the brownies....

The Browns have no talent in picking winning coaches like the Rooneys do but that works for me
