Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Hines Ward said he might need surgery after playing injured in Super Bowl 43.

Ward, who sprained his right knee in the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens, told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "We'll have to see and re-evaluate it because I don't know if I hurt it (more.)"

Ward sat out several Steelers practices in preparation for the Super Bowl. His first full practice came on Thursday -- three days before the game -- when he worked with the starting offense.

Get well soon, Hines! I'm just glad it'll happen now, and not during the season.

I wish him all the best for a speedy recovery in time for the start of the season! Ward is one of the brightest faces of the Steelers!

With any luck, he can just take the offseason to rest it, rehab it slow and maybe not need surgery.

Son of a bitchin' Ratbirds. I wonder how much the bounty was.

Hines had the last laugh, though.
