Default Ward and the Hall

While watching the Rome is Burning show today and seeing ward getting a special bottle of crown royal for everybody on the team ( what a good guy ). I got to thinking, is he a lock for the hall of fame? I sure think so. Two super bowl wins, super bowl MVP, will easily pass 10k rec yards, 72 TD's, and one of the best blocking receivers to ever play.

The guy is just going to continue to add to his TD total and receiving total, and hopefully the super bowl wins as well! I think the guy is now a lock for the hall of fame, I don't see how he can't be.

Agreed - I don't think he'll be first ballot, but he should eventually make it.

Hines Ward Stats:

800 Rec
9,780 Yards
72 TD Recpetions
1 Rushing TD
Greatest Blocking Receiver in NFL history.
2-time World Champion
Super Bowl MVP
All time Steelers Recieving record holder. That's with Hall of Famers Stallworth and Swann.

Voters know that during the Ward era he was in a running offense. And yet he still broke steeler records.

I believe Hines will play 3 more years and seal his hall of fame career in those last 3 years. With his current pace, he should end up with 1,000 catches, which would be an unbelievable stat considering how much the Steelers ran during his career. 12,000 at least in Receiving yards and right around 90 TDs. Those stats and 2 super bowls with the MVP would get him in at some point. If the Steelers win one more, even quicker for him to get in, and if he gets another SB MVP, that would make him a first ballot hall of famer.

ward rly doesn't have the eye popping stats.. he may get in and he may not get in.. it just depends on who is voting at the time

And with QBs that had a hard time hitting the broad side of a barn for more than half his career up to now.

i would say he's definitely going into the Hall of Fame for what's he done as a Pittsburgh Steeler. his records and his on and off field demenure. he's got heart and character and that overshines his stats sometimes. but, the Hall of Fame voters don't vote you in for being a sweetheart. it's about digits and how you played during your career. a few things that set him apart from other recievers that would go in at his time, he has tenure with the Steelers, his ability to play as a hard hitting WR, and that super cute smile! haha!

i would go as far as to say he would be a Hall of Famer on his first try. =)

If he remains with the team he is a lock as long as there are only a few Steeler haters voting. He is responsible for w-i-n-n-i-n-g.
