Carnell Williams, appropriately enough, ran away with The Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Cadillac Williams, the fifth pick in the 2005 draft, ran for 1,178 yards and six touchdowns as a rookie. The Tampa Bay running back nicknamed "Cadillac" was the sleek, fast and powerful model the Buccaneers needed to spark their offense. He became a starter immediately, rushed for 1,178 yards and six touchdowns, and was the catalyst in the Buccaneers' turnaround from also-ran to NFC South champion. Williams drew 47 votes Wednesday from a nationwide panel of 50 sports writers and broadcasters who cover the NFL. His running mate at Auburn, Ronnie Brown of the Dolphins, received one vote, as did tight end Heath Miller of Pittsburgh and offensive lineman Logan Mankins of New England. link-----> http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2279923

willie parker is better. to bad he wasnt a true rookie this season. there at midpoint it really looked like heath might give williams a run for his money but williams has definitely helped the bucks have a great season. he deserves the award for sure.

Hats off to Cadillac - he had a fine season by any standards - let alone in his rookie year.
Good to see a vote each for Logan Mankins (who has been excellent on the line for us this year) and Heath Miller (who has had an impressive start to his career) NM

They've been great for a while now, three Super Bowls' worth of great. But only this season have the New England Patriots become The Show, the must-see team of stars, pretty boys and reformed bad boys. Suddenly, the Patriots are not simply great; they're compelling, fascinating, appearing to be almighty and a touch lawless. The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed. |
