It surprised me there were so many steelers with top ten salaries at their position, and you can add james harrison to the list very shortly

ben, miller, harrison, reed, and eventually woodley will all be in the top 5 at their position. santonio will probably be top 10.

ben already signed his 8 year / 102 mil deal ...so at over 12 mil a year he should be in the favre slot...stupid NFL.com :)

not true, bens contract is structured so that he will make more money every year, so within the next year or two Ben will probably be in the top 5 or even top 3

Actually, that's barely above the mean.

11 positions, 5 players... 32 teams... if the distribution were COMPLETELY even each team would be represented 3 or 4 times, so 5 players isn't incredibly above average.

THen look at the position, and you have a 2 and a 5...the the rest are alll 6-10. What really struck me was no LBs (of course Harrison will be on that list soon) and that Ed Reed of the Ravens wasn't in the top 10.

It just goes to show that you can push to be the highest paid player, but within a few months or a season, you will be supplanted. A player is better off to leave a couple of $ on the table and find the best place to play. Just think if Pitt had Florida's sunshine.
