While the Cards' coaching staff knows McFadden well from their Pittsburgh days, this isn't exactly an ideal match. The Cards have cap room, but McFadden would likely have to compete with Rod Hood to start. He'd be a surefire first-teamer in most other places. This might just be a leverage visit.

Patriots beat writer Mike Reiss wonders if Mike Vrabel's trade could be part of a larger deal including Matt Cassel.
Now that would be a doozy. Reiss is one of the most well-respected beat writers in the country, and is usually very cautious to publish anything resembling speculation. He rightly points out that we have no idea what the compensation in the Vrabel trade is.

Instead of playing at the restricted free agent tender of $1.01 million, McHugh agreed to a three-year, $2.57 million contract with the Steelers that included a $390,000 signing bonus, according to a source.
