go cavs
the tribe may make the playoffs this year but the central is pretty tough between the sox, the twins, and the tigers

Pitching 1-3 should be VERY strong, and 4-5 are big question marks. Fortunately they had an open competition for the 5th spot and sent 2 guys down to continue working, so should someone in the rotation falter, hopefully there will be a guy who's really ready to step in and take over. This will be a rotation that doesn't light many batters up K-wise, but will make batters put a lot of balls in play, and depend on the D to get outs. DP's will be really important this year.

Bullpen will be good and DEEP. This will be a strength where it was previously a real weakness.

Shoppach has been really strong both behind and at the plate, so expect Martinez to get more reps as DH/1B. Martinez has also improved his ability to throw runners out, so that's a nice surprise. His bat is UBER important to the Tribes success.

This will be the strongest defensive club Cleveland has put on the field in years. Even Peralta has upped his game.

Sizemore is already a Superstar, but Choo is "next". He's gonna be a terror at the plate once he gets his reps in (recovering from a nagging injury).

Provided the starting rotation holds up, this is a potential 100 win club. They are THAT good this year.

Dont forget we get Jake Westbrook back around the AllStar break. I really think Jeremy Sowers and Aaron Laffey both make more starts for the Tribe this year then Scott Lewis and Anthony Reyes. Hell even Zack Jackson will start some. If Pronk returns to half the form he is capable of we will be back.

Rev sorry for hijacking your thread i promise this will be the only one, ill make a Pirates thread for this talk

dont count out the pirates yet, they are playing real well in spring training. the last time we finished with a winning record in spring, was the year we have come closest to a winning season since our streak. Not saying THIS is the year, but we are getting real, REAL close

As for the indians, they look real good going into the season. whats your ETA on Matt LaPorta, i took him in one of my minor leauge drafts

I say midseason for LaPorta. Fransico and Choo will be given time to show if they can handle the corners.
